Starting our new life out together, my husband and I joined St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Clair Shores in 1969 and remained there until 1995. It was there that I began my ministry as a catechist and section head in 1976 when my kids started to attend formation sessions. In 1980, I was hired at St. Blase in Sterling Heights as a full time Co-Coordinator for the family faith formation program, where I worked for the next 17 years. In 1997, I received a phone call asking if I would be interested in being the DRE at St. Clements in Centerline. Two weeks later I started my new position. I remained there for 4 years. During that time, I also worked at Queen of Peace in Harper Woods for one year, doing sacramental preparation for the families in their faith formation program. In 2001, I moved on to SS. John and Paul in Washington Twp. where I ministered for 10 years as a DRE. I retired from there in June of 2011. In September of that year I started here at St. Louis working part time. That was 6 years ago already! I have had 41 wonder years in ministry, the main focus being in religious education / faith formation, however I don’t believe there’s been any area of church ministry that I have not participated in. But wait! There is one! No one would ever accept me into their choirs! Oh well. On a personal note, I have two adult children, 3 beautiful granddaughters, 1 sweet great-granddaughter and another on the way. We’re all hoping for a boy, but we’ll take whatever comes along, because we have lots of love to share. Oh! And I can’t forget Benjamin. He’s my fur-ball baby – a blue eyed, white cat who is growing old with me. Life is good!
